HENRIK SODERSTROM, MFA
Professor of Art
Coordinator of FIRST-YEAR Foundations
Henrik Söderström loves the potential that materials in God’s created world have to expand our wonder and remind us of Jesus’ ongoing redemption of all things. After absorbing inspiration and general excitement about life at the Rhode Island School of Design, he worked with Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project, designing the set for their production of Leyli & Majnun at Lincoln Center, and creating album artwork for their Grammy-nominated recording Off the Map.
Henrik has also enjoyed creating and art directing set designs, album artwork and exhibits for the IDEA Museum, the Society for Freshwater Science, the Grammy-nominated Music of Difference Project, the Knights Orchestra, the Attacca Quartet, Sandeep Das, and Samuel Adler.
Henrik and his brilliant wife Dottie live in Marion and are the parents of two wonderful kids. They attend and serve at Kingdom Life Church.

Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.
C.S. Lewis, from his dedication to The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
My responsibility is to obey, to surrender my heart and to yield myself to the will of God. It is in the process of obedience that we gain understanding. You can’t get the peace that passes understanding until you give up your right to understand.
